If you need help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, or cooking, but prefer to live at home, home care may be an ideal option.

2. Will getting care at home reduce my independence?

Not at all. Our care is designed to support your independence by helping with tasks that may have become difficult, while allowing you to maintain control of your daily life.

4. What does a care plan include, and can it change over time?

5. Is there someone I can contact after hours?

6. Can I choose a family member or friend to be my caregiver?

Yes, you can. As long as they meet state requirements, you may designate a trusted individual to provide your care. However, spouses and those with POA cannot be hired.

7. What if I’m currently receiving services from another agency?

No problem. We can help you seamlessly transfer your care to Stellar Home Care. Most transitions take just 24 hours.

8. How quickly can services begin?

After the consultation and necessary paperwork, care typically begins within 24–48 hours.

9. How are caregivers selected for me?

We match caregivers based on skill set, personality, language, and scheduling needs following an in-home consultation with you and your loved ones.

 

10. What if I’m unhappy with my assigned caregiver?

Your satisfaction is a top priority. If you’re not happy, we’ll find a replacement caregiver that better fits your preferences.

11. Will my insurance cover the cost of care?

Medicaid & Payment Options

1. Do you accept insurance or Medicaid?

Yes, we work with Medicaid waiver programs, long-term care insurance, and private pay clients. Our team can help you understand your options and handle the paperwork.

2. How do I qualify for home care services through Medicaid in PA?

To qualify, you must meet certain income, medical, and functional criteria. Services are coordinated through the Office of Long-Term Living. We’re happy to help you understand the steps to apply.

4. I have Medicaid. Am I eligible for services?

Yes. Once you are approved for Medicaid and meet the eligibility criteria, you can receive services after completing the necessary process.

6. I don’t have Medicaid. Can I still receive care?

Yes. We offer private-pay options with flexible rates and care plans. We’re happy to work within your budget.

7. Can I pay for services out-of-pocket while waiting for Medicaid approval?

Yes. Many clients begin care with us privately while their Medicaid application is in progress.

8. What if I’ve been approved for CHC already?

If you have CHC approval, we’ll coordinate with your Service Coordinator to launch your care plan with Stellar Home Care right away.

9. Can a family member other than my spouse get paid to provide care?

Yes. In most cases, adult children, siblings, and friends can be compensated caregivers, subject to eligibility requirements.

Yes. We run reliable weekly payroll and also offer daily pay for those who want to cash out earnings immediately after a shift.
